Which Organelles Are Associated With Endosymbiont Theory
The Endosymbiotic Theory posits that plastids and mitochondria were once free-living prokaryotes, but became organelles of eukaryotic cells. The endosymbiosis theory started with these two specific types of cell–plants had chloroplasts in their leaves which process photosynthesis while animals house various sorts (eukaryote) within them like fireflies or lightening bugs to help produce energy through oxidation reactions using up food sources from other organisms.
Which Discovery Supported The Endosymbiotic Theory?
The discovery of independent DNA (from the host) in mitochondria and chloroplasts supports an endosymbiotic theory.
