Where Is The Primary Somatosensory Cortex Located

The somatic sensory cortex in humans, which is located on the side of your brain known as Parietal Lobe (BA 6) and has four distinct regions or fields: Brodmann’s Area 3a which processes tactile information; 3b- Primary Semicentral Somatosensation Cortex also called SI -is where you would find any kind sensation but especially touch related ones such as pain perception. Finally there are two other areas 1 & 2 they’re not really critical for body awareness per se since most people can still function without them entirely though some may have limited abilities like being able only see outwards with their eyes closed due to damage done there at birth.
